ARIZONA REGION SCCA DRIVERS SCHOOL PROCEDURE
August 20, 2010
As the economics of a stand alone drivers school is no longer an option, the region has adopted a written policy for people wanting to obtain a novice permit.
With your early notification to the region and the driver licensing chairman, you can run 2 weekends in the region’s PDX series. (approximately 5.3 hours of track time) At these events, you will have assigned driving instructors and be monitored by the region and it race officials.
With enough people qualified, the region will then do a special school at one of its fall regional events. This event to give you 3 – 20 minute sessions for emergency procedures, flagging procedures and practice starts, along with a ground school for procedures and GCR use.
If approved, and school requirements are signed off, you will be able to enter and run the weekends regional events.
Notice, there will no longer be available novice log books available on race weekends. If you need one, please plan ahead and get your paperwork, physical and etc into SCCA Club Racing offices in Topeka in time to receive it back from them.
